The project was picked up as a challenge to self in order to see where I stand if asked to model a proper modern fire-arm. The inspiration from this came from my favorite weaponry in the game Grand Theft Auto: Episodes of Liberty City (TBoGT), a rip off of the original DSR-1. Upon researching, I came to know that DSR-1 has an elder kin which goes by the name of DSR-50 and is more powerful and rarer than the original DSR-1. In the initial phase, as always, I filtered the internet for some high resolution useful references of the DSR-50 and read about the gun on the manufacturer's website as well as on the wikipedia in order to get a clearer understanding of its functions and real-life dimensions as well as the core differences between its lookalike kins and itself. Thereafter, it was the usual modeling, texturing and lighting phase which was then assembled into After Effects for the integration of AO and eventually ended up in Adobe Premiere for final edit.
